X-Men: First Class Details Revealed!

Several details from next summer's X-Men : First Class have been revealed thanks to an informal phone interview AICN conducted with the film's producer (and director of the first two X-Men films) Bryan Singer.

First Class is said to take place in the 1960's and will heavily play with the style of the day. Audiences will see John F. Kennedy as President and the parallel storyline of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X will play in the background. Overall, the look is said to emulate the original X-Men costumes far more than previous films have, though the film's chronology pre-dates the First Class story in the comics, meaning that many of the expected characters (Cyclops and Marvel Girl are listed by name) will not appear.

The villain of the film is, as rumored, Sebastian Shaw (played by Kevin Bacon). January Jones's Emma Frost will appear as the Hellfire Club's White Queen as well.

The central focus of the film is the friendship between Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Eric Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) and how it falls apart. Xavier will not be depicted as bald or in a wheelchair for the majority of the film, though we will learn what cripples him.

AICN's article makes frequent James Bond comparisons, noting that the film will heavily play up the '60s style, but with retro-future technology in a setting that spans the globe. Russia (a.k.a. the U.S.S.R.) specifically is mentioned.

X-Men : First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3, 2011.

Alba become Spy?

Jessica Alba is in negotiations to star in Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World."

The Dimension movie is a reboot of sorts for the moneymaking franchise, which initially starred Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara as the kids of superspy parents (Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino). Rodriguez wrote and directed each installment.

Vega and Sabara are no longer kids -- Vega is nearly 23 and recently engaged -- but Rodriguez wanted to continue the series.

The new movie centers on Alba as a retired spy who has been reactivated. The actress, mother of a toddler in real life, will be playing the mother of a baby and two preteen stepchildren.

The actors cast in the preteen roles will be the new Spy Kids.

Other roles seeking to be filled include Alba's husband, a slightly nerdy investigative reporter, and the villain, known as the Time Keeper, whose goal it is to stop time.

It is expected that Banderas, Vega and Sabara will return in supporting roles.

Like most of Rodriguez's movies, "Kids" will shoot in his hometown of Austin, Texas. The movie, with a budget of less than $30 million, is eyeing a start next month.

The picture, which also has been known as "Spy Kids 4: Armageddon," will be in 3D.

The new "Kids" marks the third time Alba has worked with Rodriguez. The actress starred in 2005's "Sin City" and appears in "Machete," Rodriguez's low-budget grindhouse flick that opens September 3.

THE LAST AIRBENDER

Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world.

Gue nggak ngerti apa yang ada di pikiran Shyahmalan dalam membuat nih film. The Last Airbender yang merupakan hasil adaptasi dari animasi berjudul 'Avatar'--bukan Avatar biru loh--yang biasanya bisa disaksikan di stasiun TV Nickelodeon ini sangatlah, hmm, membosankan. Gue bukan penggemar Avatar versi kartun, tapi pernah nonton beberapa eps-nya. Pertama, nggak ada yg mirip sama versi kartun, apalagi Aang yang disini malah keliatan asia ato indian kali ya. Karakter lainnya juga flat banget, kasih ekspresi bagusan dikit kek gitu. Sudahlah mungkin kalo mereka mainnya bagus, toh tampang juga nggak ngaruhin kualitas film. Tapi ya ya ya sayangnya mereka main jelek, datar, terlalu bergantung sama slow-mo yang rada bagus tapi ngebosenin, dan efek yang sekali lagi rada bagus tapi ngebosenin. Naskah gausah diomongin, totally-boring. One of the worst of Shyamahlan's.

FURRY VENGEANCE



Furry Vengeance" is a live action family comedy in which an ambitious young real estate developer, Dan Sanders, faces off with a band of angry animals when his new housing subdivision pushes too far into a pristine part of the wilderness. Led by an incredibly clever raccoon, the animals stymie the development and teach our hero about the environmental consequences of man's encroachment on nature.

Gue kadang nggak ngerti apa yang ada dipikiran orang-orang kalo nonton film, terutama komedi. Film ini termasuk salah satu komedi yang dicemooh orang, bahkan banyak yang masukin ke worst list. Oh no, Furry Vengeance masih ngehibur kok. Jokes konyol yang sangat banyak serta dipaduin sama aksi-aksi bodoh Brendan Fraser sukseees buat gue terbahak-bahak, suer! Padahal gue salah satu orang yang nggak suka sama Fraser, ya ngebosenin aja kalo dia akting, peace bro! Intinya, untuk sajian Summer tahun ini, Furry Vengeance sangatlah menghibur, diluar script yang emang sebodoh jokesnya. Not too bad at all!

SALT

Ini dia film yang paling gue tunggu tahun 2010. Angelina Jolie, once again show her women-power through motion picture. SALT seru banget, bener-bener macu adrenalin, apalagi dipaduin sama satu misteri penting; siapa sih Salt? Siapa yang bener, dan siapa yang jahat? Selama seluruh durasi gue nggak dibuat nyesel nonton SALT, adegan kejar-kejaran, tembak-tembakkan, (apasih) disusun dengan rapi tanpa memberikan clue penting yang bisa ngasih tau penonton siapa sih SALT. Well, akhir yang ngegantung pasti buat semua ngarep ada SALT 2. Semoga aja ada.

THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE

Nicolas Cage kembali muncul di, hmmm, film fantasi. Mungkin dia kecapean kali ya dulu abis dapet Oscar langsung kebanyakan berfantasi (apasih). Filmnya sih lumayan seru, sayangnya Cage tetep aja main biasa tanpa improvisasi akting yang kuat dan bisa membuat film seru. INCEPTION

Nolan oh Nolan, kapan ya nih orang buat film yang bisa gue jelek-jelekkin. Sekali lagi, Nolan memblender otak gue. Sebuah film phychology-thriller yang bener-bener ngeharusin orang buat mikir. So, naskahnya udah nggausah diomongin, totally cool!! The most mind-blending film of the year. Ini baru namanya film cerdas. Oscar? Pasti. Tapi sayangnya sekali lagi DiCaprio dikacangin dalam segi aktingnya, mungkin emang film-filmnya belakangan ini bertumpu pada naskah yang emang jadi daya tarik utama sih.

PREDATORS



The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human "predators" that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

Oh no, gue males ngomongin nih film. Mungkin cuma gue yang ngga suka nih film, diluar banyak orang yang masih nganggep nih film dalam kategori menghibur. Jalan ceritanya aneh, ngga dikasih titik terang ataupun petunjuk bagus misalnya lewat narasi kek gitu. Alien....oh freak. Pokoknya sampah! (menurut gue). Mari kita tunggu Adrien Brody dalam Splice, yang lagi-lagi berurusan dengan makhluk ajaib....

TWILIGHT SAGA : ECLIPSE

Kadang gue kasian banget sama K-Stew, film-filmnya banyak yang bagus diluar franchise ini, aktingnya juga lumayan. Tapi kenapa ya dia terjebak disini? Ngga berarti gue benci nih film, masih ngehibur sih. Tapi kalo diliat dalem-dalem, ngga bisa ya mereka akting lebih bagus lagi, tanpa goyang-goyang mata yang aneh gitu dan ekspresi muka datar yang katanya sih romantis. Dari semua Twilight gue akuin paling bagus Twilight yang pertama. Kalo diliat dari naskah sih ngga usah dimarahin ya namanya juga dari novel. Tapi bisa gue bilang vampire-myth karangan Meyer ini salah satu penggambaran vampir paling freak! Masih lebih masuk akal Vampire Diaries deh, well walaupun emang semuanya nggak bener, hahhaha. So, R-Pattz, be reay for Razzies (again).

Setelah sebelumnya main bareng dalam film, apa ya, pokoknnya judulnya ada Vanilla nya gitu. Intinya nih film seru. Ditambah adegan-adegan lawak yang bisa buat orang ketawa. Seru seru seru!!

TOY STORY 3



Andy is now a young adult, departing for college, and his toys, including Woody and Buzz Lightyear, are being sent to storage. Before his toys can be put in the attic, they are accidentally thrown away and are picked up by the garbage men. The toys find themselves at a local day-care center where they must try to survive pre-school children.

Uh, ini adalah TS terakhir. Say goodbye to toys! To Andy, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and many more. Tapi gue bingung kok di TS3 nggak ada boneka barbie yang pake tongkat yang pake gaun pink itu ya? Ada yang nyadar? Intinya, Toy Story 3 adalah suatu pencapaian Pixar yang sangat sempurna dalam membuat suatu karya animasi berikut dengan naskah yang sangat sempurna. Toy Story 3 tampil agak dewasa dibanding kedua film terdahulu. TS3 lebih fokus pada bagaimana memecahkan suatu masalah atau keluar dari kenyataan yang melekat pada diri seseorang, yang disini diinterpresentasikan ke dalam mainan yang harus keluar dari fakta bahwa mereka hanyalah sebuah mainan yang tidak selamanya akan dimainkan oleh pemilik, Andy. Ending yang sangat menyedihkan, tapi bahagia. Gua suka banget nih film. Nggak tau mau ngomong apa lagi. One of the best. They successfuly choose the right way to end a serial film.
